Card making: Online Card Classes – Extraordinary Embossing Folders Day 5

I’m finishing my makes guided by the week-long course from Online Card Classes: Extraordinary Embossing Folders. For the final day, we looked at bonus tips for using embossing folders which incorporate previous techniques with different ways of applying media.

Bible Journaling: Peace

I’ve been working in my Bible this week, adding five more journaling illustrations. As I was looking for new verses to journal, a theme of ‘peace’ developed. As normal, there is a free download printable if you would like to trace and colour your own versions of the illustrations.

Art Journal Page: ATC Art Gallery

It’s my monthly Art Journal Session on Monday evening, and for this month’s theme we’re tackling ‘ATC art’. I’m not one for making artist trending cards most of the time – for the uninitiated, ATCs are 3½” x 2½” pieces of artwork that are designed to be swapped between crafters – and I thought it was time to revisit the format. I’ve sneaked them into  my art journal timetable, and here’s the sample page. BTW – the frames are one of my first forays into the world of 3D design and printed here in The Studio.

Art Journal Page: Pictures [Pick A Stick Challenge]

#PASC416

I’ve taken the opportunity today to complete this month’s Pick A Stick Challenge. Ten steps, in order, mixing up the media and adding collage elements. There are more and more taking part in the challenge, and it’s the perfect way to journal when the artistic muse has wandered off.

Art Journaling: Water-solubles

IMG_6615_w

For November’s art journaling class at The Studio, we’ll be playing with water-solubles. This page spread is a mix of Caran D’Ache Neocolor II water-soluble wax crayons, Derwent Inktense pencils and blocks and black pigment pen. It’s an experimental page, and I quite like the blending of the colours, the framing of the colour blocks and text, but if I were to do it again, I’d want to space things a bit better and perhaps play with the depth by intertwining the frames better and adding some drop shadows… I was also considering adding embossing paste squares – but I think that would just be overdoing it a little.

250,000 views – the giveaway

Completed quiltIt’s not long to wait before my little corner of the blogosphere captures it’s 250,000th view. I gave you a sneak preview of my giveaway a couple of weeks ago… and here’s the whole thing! I’m giving away an A3 quilt featuring 100% cotton fabric onto which I have hand drawn and shaded tangle patterns that I’ve published on this blog, quilted with cotton/polyester wadding and then hand bound with a black fabric binding. It’s labelled on the back with my name and the fact it’s my seventh quilt.

As mentioned before – all you have to do to win this giveaway is to be the person closest to the 250,000th view that leaves a meaningful comment somewhere on this blog (spam doesn’t count!). All you have to do then (Sandy F. take note – that’s twice now) is respond to the email from me asking for your postage details!

Just a little thank you from me for supporting me over the months and years 🙂
