A different colour scheme this week at AAA Cards challenge blog. We’ve gone for the fairly classic black, white and gold. The prompt guide photo has baubles, and I have also gone with a Christmas theme, but any subject matter is allowed as long as the colours are stuck to it and it is a clean and simple design. Here’s my design team card:

LIM DT: Anything goes (as long as it’s CAS)
In the penultimate challenge of the year, we’re looking for your clean and simple cards over at Less is More. Anything goes this week as long as you keep it CAS. Don’t forget to look at our definitions for more guidance on what this entails. I searched through my stash and looked for a rubber stamp that had never been used and found this one featuring a poinsettia. I chopped a strip from it to keep it CAS rather than use the full image. Here’s the card I made for the design team inspiration gallery:
AAA Cards DT: Colour scheme – purples and blues
I’m occasionally accused of being monotone and predictable in the choice of colours I wear, typically blues and greys. The colour challenge at AAA Cards this week features tones of purples and blues, so I feel quite at home. I’ll also be picking the entries that we will be showcasing, so I look forward to seeing your makes based on the photo prompt below. Here’s my take on the clean and simple card challenge…
LIM DT: Blue, pink and white colour challenge
We have a colour challenge over at Less is More this week… Your clean and simple card should feature blue, pink and white to enter our gallery. Now, my cards don’t necessarily fit the guidance for ‘simple’ or ‘easily reproducible’ but I find them rather pleasing and am running with them! Here’s my first card for the design team inspiration page and below is another I made:

It’s a one-layer challenge over at Less is More clean and simple card-making challenge blog. Don’t forget that one layer means just that… everything has to be on the card blank. No die cuts, no matting and very minimal, if any, embellishments. The theme is ‘hello sunshine’. I have tried to emulate a sunrise with my design team card:

Less is More clean and simple card challenge blog has a new theme for the next fortnight… We’re working through the alphabet and this week it’s the turn of C – make card for something to celebrate. I had various ideas and ended up going with this one:
LIM DT: Anything Goes One Layer Card (#479)
The Less is More challenges are back from their Christmas/New Year break! The first this year is a one-layer card challenge – the image must be printed or stamped directly onto the card blank, with no additional layers and no embellishments. The theme is open – anything goes. Here’s my abstract design team card for your inspiration:
AAA Cards DT: Moodboard ± Christmas
The last challenge of the year at AAA Cards is to create a clean and simple card based on a moodboard with the optional extra of making it Christmasy. There are plenty of elements to choose from on the moodboard – you can pick colours, themes, shapes and textures. I went with a quick card based on the picture of the baubles. Have a great Christmas and I’ll catch up with you in the New Year with new challenge inspiration.
AAA Cards DT: Small and few ± baked goods #229
I’ve been using polyurethane casting resin for a long while now, batch-making every mould I have when it’s out. Consequently, I now have containers full of paintable mouldings. Do I use them up? Infrequently! The latest challenge over at AAA Cards is to add small and few elements to a clean and simple card with the optional extra of ‘baked goods’. This immediately put in mind some of these cupcake mouldings languishing in my stash. A quick lick of paint later and the choice of a large card to make them look small, I came up with this:
AAA Cards DT: Anything CAS goes ± Halloween cats #227
I don’t normally ‘do’ Halloween stuff, but the optional theme over at AAA Cards this week for their clean and simple card challenge is ‘Halloween cats’. I don’t particularly ‘do’ cats either – I’m a dog person – so I dropped that part of the challenge and went with a straight Halloween theme instead. This stamp from Tim Holtz was perfect for this, or a pirate card, and I’ve just coloured it in with alcohol markers.
