LIM DT: Alphabet – C is for celebrate

Less is More clean and simple card challenge blog has a new theme for the next fortnight… We’re working through the alphabet and this week it’s the turn of C – make card for something to celebrate. I had various ideas and ended up going with this one:

Celebrate wedding day clean and simple card

Used for this celebrate card

  • Ranger / Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Wilted Violet
  • Ranger / Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Wilted Violet
  • 3M delicate surface tape (the purple one)
  • Sentiment stamp and badge by Craftwork Cards (discontinued)
  • 5×5″ card blank

I chose to use purple as a complementary colour to the gold, stamping the distress oxide inked stamp several times to make the paler ghost prints. I cut the background to size before taping along the edges and blending the distress oxide to make it look as if it were matted. Finally, I blended the edges with distress ink. The badge is mounted on foam pads.

I also tried a different background, below, but decided it didn’t quite work as I had hoped and was too busy to use. I also trimmed it too much and it ended up being too narrow for the card…
