Art Journaling: Altered Images

In my notebook, well, Notes app, I had the theme ‘altered images’ written down for August’s art journal session. Pondering this at 4am one morning (don’t you just hate a creative brain mulling things over in the early hours?) I looked up Altered Images, the band, and their hit ‘Happy Birthday’. After that, this mixed-media layout came together nicely, blending collage, stickers, AI-image generation and a little bit of experimentation:

LIM DT: A is for Automobile (#482)

We have a new type of theme at Less is More this week – working through the alphabet. Unsurprisingly, we start with A and the chosen item is ‘automobile’. I went through all my stamps and found just one featuring a car. I used that recently (actually not so recently I discover) and decided to look a little further. A quick internet search later, I found a suitable file I could edit and cut out with my Silhouette electronic cutter and came up with this:

Review: Advanced Compositing in Adobe Photoshop CC

With things being so quiet in the Studio at the moment due to COVID restrictions, I thought I would find something to hone my skills or add to my repertoire. Browsing Amazon recommendations (as you do) I came across a book ‘Adobe Master Class: Advanced Compositing in Adobe Photoshop CC’ by Bret Malley. The blurb sounded good, the reviews were excellent and it made it to my wishlist. And there it languished for a few days before I decided it was training and therefore a business expense. Purchased and arrived the next day (oh the joys of Prime). Here’s one of my completed pieces based on a tutorial from the book, alongside the source images:
