LIM DT: Rainbow colour challenge

I’m looking forward to a plethora of brightly coloured cards over the next fortnight in response to the latest clean and simple card challenge from Less is More. It’s a colour challenge: ‘rainbow’. It’s been a long time since I featured a rainbow on a card and I couldn’t think of a stamp that was in my stash that had a rainbow on it. So, I dumped one possible interpretation of the theme and went with just the colours:

I have just taken delivery of some Alcohol Pearls from Tim Holtz/Ranger. That’s one danger of watching Tim’s excellent YouTube video! I decided to use them to create my rainbow of colours, adding them to a strip of Yupo paper (non-porous synthetic paper). They melded and merged with a little teasing with puffed air. Finally, add a few drops of Alcohol Blending Solution here and there. I played with several strips and techniques and decided that neat drops of ink gave a much brighter result than using a blending felt. There’s a lovely pearlescent finish to the strip which isn’t evident in the photo.

Used on this rainbow coloured card

  • Ranger / Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearls sets 1-4 with a smidge of Gilded Alloy
  • Yupo synthetic paper
  • Sentiment from Craftwork Cards (discontinued)
  • Ranger archival ink: Jet Black
  • C6 card blank
