LIM DT: Autumn Birthday CASe Card

It’s a CASe challenge over at Less is More. Ok, it was a new one for me too. Apparently, CASe stands for ‘Copy And Share everything’ and the aim is to take inspiration from any or all of the elements of a starter card, all the while keeping to the clean and simple principles. Here’s my card, and below is Sharon’s card that she made as our starter for ten:

There are so many elements one can take inspiration from – the curved die-cut, the flowers, the techniques (e.g. heat embossing), the shapes (the stars) or adding small pearl dots. The colours reminded me of autumn and the leaves turning, so that was where I started from.

I masked a cone to emulate the area with stars and filled it with the tattered leaves stamps in the various colours before blending distress ink over in Rusty Hinge and edging with the ornate trim stamp. Stamp some more leaves onto thin card and fussy-cut before blending a little more colour over and creasing to shape. Stick down and add Liquid Pearl ‘berries’. Stamp the sentiment to finish.

Used in my Case card

  • Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps:
    • Crazy Talk [CMS236]
    • Ornate Trims [CMS326]
    • Falling Leaves [CMS097]
  • Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Inks:
    • Rusty Hinge / Mustard Seed / Fossilized Amber / Barn Door
  • Ranger Liquid Pearls: Garnet

  1. This is just gorgeous. I love the leafy background in your masked cone. A wonderful combination of colors. Your die cut leaves are beautiful and the Garnet Pearls are the perfect finishing touch. I love everything about this card!

  2. So sorry I’ve been a bit absent with commenting lately, I’ll try to be a better teamie from now on!
Love the masked and inked section but those stamped and fussy cut leaves are something else, they look so realistic and the colours are fabulous x
