To make up for the fact I didn’t manage to create any patterns during September, I have fourteen new patterns for release through October. Starting tomorrow, there’s a fortnight of tangle goodness coming your way! Find your Arab coffee cups and sheesha pipes – we’re going Persian 🙂

Handmade Books – workshop samples
I’m leading a workshop during the afternoon of 22nd October (see About Me page) creating handmade books – I hope that we’ll get to make all three of the samples below:
Adventures in Heat Embossing
I’m demonstrating all sorts of things heat embossing on 22nd October (see About Me page), and finished off my demo board this morning:
And here’s a close up of the faux dichroic glass piece for those that like shiny things 😉
Beary Special Christmas
It’s Passion for Promarkers challenge entry time again, and this week the theme is ‘beary special’. A friend mentioned this afternoon that it’s less than 100 days to Christmas. And crafters have to start early… Here are my entries to the challenge.
College – Week 1
Well, I’ve survived my first week in full time education in 22 years! Monday saw our introduction to Jewellery – we started with a design sheet and learning various techniques. The afternoon was spent starting to explore ‘line’ in contextual studies. On Tuesday we started looking at the print workshop and more drawing exercises, with the afternoon being introduced to our contextual studies in Art Nouveau (we’re doing an art journal for this one, yay!). And on Friday we looked at graphic design with emphasis on illustration, with even more drawing. Anyone would think that we’re on an art course 😉
Art Journal Page – Peterborough Beer Festival 2011
It’s a wonder, but this is a journal record of five and a half hours done live at Peterborough Beer Festival. Just as well I was having just half pints! The title was drawn whilst on the train from Leicester, and the rest was created as I was drinking the beer in question. And the best beer of the day? The Fuller’s Brewer’s Reserve No.3 – exceptional combination of malt flavours from the beer and the scotch barrels it was aged in. Very very nice, but at £7.50 a bottle or £90 for a case, I don’t think I’ll be having another any time soon 🙁
Patchwork – with pens?
I finished off my ‘patchwork’ themed card last night, ready to enter the Passion for Promarkers challenge this week. I so enjoyed working with the pattern from last week (remember the Letraset competition?) that I used it again, completing it in greys and blues this time.
Unique Giveaway #2 – the winner…
… is Linda Sims! Linda had so many problems getting her tiles to me – it was worth the effort. Linda was selected at random from the eight entries that I’d received, and once I get her details, my ZIA will be winging it’s way to her.
The next unique giveaway will be at 50,000 blog hits. Keep coming back to see what’s new, and what you could win.
