The brand new papercraft and embellishments set from Craft Label and Dovecraft is ‘Butterfly Kisses’. The palette is green, purple and pink with some of the papers glittered and silvered. There are floral (roses) and geometric patterns, and of course, there are butterflies galore. There are three paper pad sizes: 6×6″, 8×8″ and 12×12″. The embellishments include mini-pegs, painted toppers, holographic butterflies, fabric brads, dies, clear stamps and resin roses. Here is the result of a couple of hours work, two trios of decorated cards:
Draw a circle onto your card blank and stick down the sentiment topper in the centre. Glue the bows in place, starting at 12,3,6 and then 9 before filling in the gaps with the other colour bows. Add glitter gems to finish.
Layer papers to make the decorated strip. Masking off the sentiment, stamp the border onto white card using Picked Raspberry distress ink. Add the pearl flower and mat onto pearlescent pink card. Add sentiment topper to finish.
This didn’t quite turn out as I planned, but I’ve included it for inspiration! Cut out a 5″ square of the sentiment paper sheet and edge with Picked Raspberry distress ink. Using thinned white paint or gesso, create a ‘cloud’ which should highlight but not obliterate the background images. Mat and mount onto a 6″ card before adding the sentiment.
1) Cut coordinating squares from the paper pad, edging lighter colours with Wilted Violet distress ink. Mount the holographic butterflies and sentiment to complete the DL card. 2) Cut out the scallops from the silvered paper sheet and glue into place. Add sentiment and pearled flowers. 3) Cut and mat coordinating papers from the pad and add butterfly and sentiment.
