Today’s new challenge at AAA Cards is to make a monochrome card. Monochrome in this context does not necessarily mean without colour – different shades of the same colour are allowed. I chose to go with a greyscale monochrome and produced this masculine card:

AAA Cards DT: Pink Birthday
Over at AAA Cards challenge blog we’re celebrating 9 years of clean and simple card-making. There’s even a money prize up for grabs! The challenge this time is ‘pink birthday’. I searched through my stash and remained uninspired by what I had on a generic birthday theme. Eventually, I settled on one of my flower stamps, coloured it pink and made it a birthday card with a stamped mini-sentiment:
LIM DT: Black & Aquamarine (#480)
For the new clean and simple card challenge at Less is More for the next fortnight, we have a colour theme – black and aquamarine. I have to admit looking up what sort of shade aquamarine is and decided it was on the greenish side of turquoise/teal. I picked out a light and dark shade from my distress crayons and basically used them as watercolours to fill in the stamped image. Here’s the final result:
LIM DT: Anything Goes One Layer Card (#479)
The Less is More challenges are back from their Christmas/New Year break! The first this year is a one-layer card challenge – the image must be printed or stamped directly onto the card blank, with no additional layers and no embellishments. The theme is open – anything goes. Here’s my abstract design team card for your inspiration:
AAA Cards DT: Along the edge ink blending
‘Along the edge’ is one of the AAA Cards‘ regular clean and simple card challenges. This week, it has the optional extra bit of work to incorporate ink blending into your card design. Here’s my sample as part of the design team:
AAA Cards DT: No layers card (#215)
Another no layers card at AAA Cards in their latest challenge. There’s also the option of a ‘plant/grow/farm’ theme. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I don’t have any stamps featuring tractors or farmyard animals/birds, so went instead for another interpretation of ‘plant’ and featured a flower on my one layer card:
AAA Cards DT: Birthday Moodboard (#214)
It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards… This time we’re to use a birthday moodboard as our theme (pic below), with the optional choice of ‘birthday’. The challenge has been running for 8 years and continues to go from strength to strength. I’ve used the balloon theme with colours from the bottom right to make my birthday card.
LIM DT: Pale Blue and Yellow
Challenge time again at Less is More, the clean and simple challenge blog. This time, it’s a colour challenge: use pale blue and yellow, and black and white are allowed. It took me a little while to come up with my design – a couple of the design team had already posted their cards and I didn’t want to do the same or a similar card. Here’s my final take on the challenge:
LIM DT: Sea Creatures
Challenge time again at Less is More, and this time it’s a theme: sea creatures. Strangely, despite searching through 20 years of collected stamps, magazine freebies and digistamps, I couldn’t find any images of sea creatures. Not even a fish. Then I remembered a logo I created for our craft business that ran for 10 years as part of a craft club… The Manic Stamper. It only took a little adjustment to make this sea creature inspired birthday card for the avid rubber stamper:
LIM DT: Chocolate!
There’s a birthday celebration over at Less is More Challenge blog. The clean and simple challenge has been running for 10 years! There are lots of prizes to be won if you’d like to enter, with the birthday theme being the colour ‘chocolate’. I decided a tenth birthday cake was in order and came up with this card:
