AAA Cards DT: Along the edge ink blending

‘Along the edge’ is one of the AAA Cards‘ regular clean and simple card challenges. This week, it has the optional extra bit of work to incorporate ink blending into your card design. Here’s my sample as part of the design team:

ink blending edge border through a stencil

I toyed with all sorts of ideas, including ink blending over a clear heat-embossed pattern. In the end, I settled for blending through a stencil and liked the look of the quatrefoil tile shapes. I added some sparkle with sponged glitter glue over some of the coloured areas for a bit of bling. Topped off with a stamped distressed sentiment.

Used in this ink blending card

  • Stencil from DecoArt, I think
  • Stampendous cling rubber stamp: Cling Grunge Birthday [CRH302]
  • Ranger / Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Scattered Straw / Dusty Concord / Twisted Citron / Peacock Feathers
  • Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue: Stardust
  • A6 card blank
