Oh boy… somehow I have managed to avoid/not get round to making a shaker card. For the uninitiated, a shaker card typically has glitter/confetti/hundreds and thousands in a clear window that, well, shake and mix when the card is moved. The latest challenge at AAA Cards is to use a stack of macaroons as the colour theme for a clean and simple card, with the option to make it into a shaker card. So, without further ado, I present my very first shaker card:

AAA Cards DT: No layers card (#215)
Another no layers card at AAA Cards in their latest challenge. There’s also the option of a ‘plant/grow/farm’ theme. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I don’t have any stamps featuring tractors or farmyard animals/birds, so went instead for another interpretation of ‘plant’ and featured a flower on my one layer card:
AAA Cards DT: Birthday Moodboard (#214)
It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards… This time we’re to use a birthday moodboard as our theme (pic below), with the optional choice of ‘birthday’. The challenge has been running for 8 years and continues to go from strength to strength. I’ve used the balloon theme with colours from the bottom right to make my birthday card.
AAA Cards DT: Small and few + Easter/Spring (#213)
Another clean and simple card challenge has been posted over at AAA Cards. This time the theme is ‘Easter/Spring’ and the challenge is to use small and few elements. It’s been a while since I have made any papercraft flowers, so that’s what I went with for my design team card…
AAA Cards DT: Along the edge + your country (#212)
One theme that recurs regularly in clean and simple card making challenges is ‘along the edge’. You have four to choose from, but the elements on the card need to predominantly be arranged on the edge of the card blank. This leaves lots of white space on the card which can be daunting for some. This week’s theme over at AAA Cards also throws in the wild card of ‘your country’. With the design team being from all over the world, we’re sure to have some fabulous cards for your inspiration. Here’s mine:
AAA Cards DT: Anything goes / spring animals (#211)
Though the theme is ‘anything goes’ it’s important to remember that over at AAA Cards the challenge is to keep it clean and simple. I’ve incorporated the optional theme of ‘spring animals’ into my CAS card. It’s one of the more easy challenges to take part in – why not have a go?
AAA Cards DT: Sketch and silhouette (#210)
This week’s clean and simple card challenge at AAA Cards is to use the sketch provided to inspire your own makes. There’s the added theme of ‘silhouette’ to throw into the mix. Here’s my design team card…
AAA Cards DT: One ninth with favourite animal (#209)
In this week’s challenge over at AAA Cards, we’re set the task of using just one ninth of the card for our elements. Which ninth you use is up to you, as is the size of the card. I chose a dog as my favourite animal and worked back from there to get the right size card to fit into my ninth. Ok, it overlapped a little, but the essence is certainly there!
AAA Cards DT: Colour scheme – B&W+1 (#208)
Another challenge over at AAA Cards – it’s a colour scheme recipe with the guidance to be black and white and one other colour. As with all their challenges, the aim is to keep your card clean and simple (lots of white space, few, if any, embellishments and keeping elements to roughly one third of the card).
AAA Cards DT: One layer + big sentiment
Another clean and simple card for you, featured in AAA Cards latest challenge: one layer with an optional extra of a big sentiment. The mood board for this week’s challenge included hearts, I’m sure, in time for Valentine’s Day. I looked out my only stamp to feature a heart, hoping it wasn’t too fussy for a CAS card, and used it along with a big sentiment for my card:
