Bible Journaling: Divine Protection (BJ-34)

For this month’s Bible journaling illustrations, I have pulled together five verses on the loose theme of ‘divine protection’. This is the penultimate set of verses chosen with the help of ChatGPT, and potentially the penultimate set of verses I shall be illustrating in my current journaling Bible. The good news is, though, that I have two new Bibles in which to work – more on that in future posts.

Once again, I have used my Color Cubes for palette inspiration (even using a random number generator to pick them) and Faber-Castell Polychromos colouring pencils.

I ran out of AI credits for use on Microsoft Designer, so I had a go with Colorifyai.art – a site mainly to create colouring pages, but it worked well for outline drawings. The grave stone is from the Noun Project and is by Arkinasi.

I’ve not added bling to an illustration for a while, so I spruced up ‘salvation’ with some Ranger Stickles glitter glue in Cotton Candy and Raspberry Tart.

The colours used were…

Color Cube card no.Polychromos pencil nos.
182230 / 187 / 283 / 133+140 / 235 & 217
290152 / 157 / 199 / 263 / 190 / 268
380143 / 135 / 123 / 113 / 107 / 112
310230 / 268 / 192 / 194 / 283 / 118
093154 / 109+231 / 192 / 188 / 154+232

Where two colours are mentioned with an addition symbol, that’s a layered colour so that I got the shades right. Often the colours are knocked back with a neutral(ish) grey.
