Less is More clean and simple card challenge blog has a new theme for the next fortnight… We’re working through the alphabet and this week it’s the turn of C – make card for something to celebrate. I had various ideas and ended up going with this one:
Used for this celebrate card
- Ranger / Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Wilted Violet
- Ranger / Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Wilted Violet
- 3M delicate surface tape (the purple one)
- Sentiment stamp and badge by Craftwork Cards (discontinued)
- 5×5″ card blank
I chose to use purple as a complementary colour to the gold, stamping the distress oxide inked stamp several times to make the paler ghost prints. I cut the background to size before taping along the edges and blending the distress oxide to make it look as if it were matted. Finally, I blended the edges with distress ink. The badge is mounted on foam pads.
I also tried a different background, below, but decided it didn’t quite work as I had hoped and was too busy to use. I also trimmed it too much and it ended up being too narrow for the card…
Very cool backgrounds!! I’m going to have to try this!! Gorgeous!
Fab design for the LIM challenge and in my fave colour too!

Both are fantastic love how you used the word celebrate for your background. Hope you are celebrating good health.
