We have a new type of theme at Less is More this week – working through the alphabet. Unsurprisingly, we start with A and the chosen item is ‘automobile’. I went through all my stamps and found just one featuring a car. I used that recently (actually not so recently I discover) and decided to look a little further. A quick internet search later, I found a suitable file I could edit and cut out with my Silhouette electronic cutter and came up with this:
I cut the vinyl first before weeding out the unwanted areas. Some of the elements are quite thin/small at this scale and it turned out to be quite fiddly. I also cut the colour panels on the Silhouette (I used Adobe Illustrator and the Silhouette Connect plugin) so that they were all the same size and shape. Transferring the vinyl to the cardstock was a little imprecise as I couldn’t find a reliable way to line up the card with the outline borders – the transfer paper wasn’t as translucent as I would have liked. Since I used scrap pieces of card stock from my stash, some of the colours wouldn’t be my first choice as they are dark and reduce the contrast with the black vinyl. Overall, I am happy with the result though.

- Cardstock off-cuts

What a fantastic card Neil and great use of the Silhouette I used to mine for the sentiment this time round.Good job with the weeding it can be so fiddly, especially on small designs like this the result however is fantastic.
