Craft Label DT: Clear stamps and alcohol markers

After a small hiatus, I’m back with some Craft Label goodies and design team inspiration. This week, I’m concentrating on using clear stamps and alcohol markers to make three cards with a minimum of other items needed. This is an intellectual exercise as much as anything else but showcases what you can do with a minimal set of media.

Three cards and their make up materials

Print stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colour in some of the baubles using Nova alcohol markers. Shade in the banner of the sentiment by layering several passes of the same pen. Add glitter enamel gems and colour them with the markers. Outline the images and mount on 6×6″ card blank.

Stamp the wreath in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (has to be waterbased to avoid bleeding with the alcohol ink markers). Colour in with Nova designer markers, layering the same ink colours for the concentric circles. Cut out and mat onto white card. Mount on foam pads onto inch wide white strip, colour with more concentric circles. Working very quickly, colour the snowflake stamp and print onto the card (this will stain the stamp). Finally mount everything on card coloured on the borders with the same colour of alcohol marker.

Stamp the star in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then the holly sprigs using the star as a guide. Colour in with Nova designer markers and add white highlights with an acrylic paint pen/Posca pen. Cut to octagon shape using the star as your guide. Mat onto card with borders coloured using one of the marker pens from the holly sprigs. Stamp the sentiment banner in Versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
