It’s a fortnight since the last Less Is More Challenge, which means there’s a new theme. This time it’s ‘white and cream’ colour challenge. Again, I’ve done two cards… I thought the first I made was too simple and not at all ‘exciting’. I think the second has a little more interest and this is the one I chose for the DT post:
I used the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alterations Honeycomb die and laser cut the bees and the lettering. Laser cutting allows me to cut a lot finer detail than using the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutter (knife based), but I then have to deal with the smutty soot from the cutting process, which can be tricky.
Here’s the first card I made – simply putting a white die-cut on a cream card. Nothing more tricky than glueing thin bits and mounting a spare heart on a bit of craft foam. Still, it fits the clean and simple brief.
I like the simplicity of your wreath card but I love the bee card. The laser cutting is impressive and I love that the bees are outlines 🙂
Never too simple for LIM! Loving both your cards but I love bees and the precision of your laser cut bees is great here x
Simplicity is what we absolutely love at LIM and both your cards are fab inspiration Neil. The bee card is brilliant and it is good really to see some crisp laser cutting; gotta love those bees. Your birthday card is just perfect for one of those quick card that you need in a hurry – plus it is extremely elegant too. Love them both.
Great cards Neil, I love the honeycomb die it creates such a great background.
