Quilt No. 025: Serenity

Where has the time gone – I’ve just noted that it’s been a month since I last posted. As normal, if I’m not posting, it’s because I’ve been busy on projects that take a little longer to bring to fruition and shared. This time, I’ve been working on another set of praying hands for church and a new quilt cover for our sofa (since we’d worn out the first one).

The quilt is 6’x6′ and comprises 20 union stars with a 9-block border. It uses two Fabric Freedom Strippers (jelly rolls) – darks: Serenity FJ100, lights: Tonal Prints FJA2, and two Serenity charm packs (5″x5″) with calico for the 9-blocks. There were enough strips left to complete the binding. Quilted with 50:50 bamboo cotton batting and a printed cotton backing using stitch-in-the-ditch. It was quite challenging to pull the design together to make the quilt fit the sofa, but once I’d counted and recounted the strips and squares to make sure there were enough, it was a relatively quick make.

There was one appreciative vote within seconds of putting it in place…
