Art Journal Page: Negativity vs Creativity

IMG_7070_w

It’s perhaps not surprising that over the next few weeks you’re likely to see more art journaling than normal – after all, I’m going to need to practice what I’ll be preaching teaching. It’s also not surprising that with the ups and downs of Wednesday’s changes to my working life that not a lot of creating got done (by me that is, there was plenty of creating being done in the Studio by guests!). I started this page last night, using acrylics to create the water splashed background, before adding bubble wrap dots and embossing the white areas this morning and adding the text. What a release to the negativity, and the creativity is back 🙂

To make this layout, I used:

  • Kaisercolour Wisteria / Yellow / Yellow Deep / Pretty Pink / Magenta / Cool Grey
  • WOW! Embossing Powder Bright White Super Fine
  • Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink: Watering Can / Sunflower / Cactus Flower
  • Versamark inkpad
  • Faber-Castel Pitt Artist Pen – Brush: Cold Grey III
  • Posca Pens (1M)
  • Stamps:
    • Latin Background ADS501 [Woodware]
    • Cling Elegant Scroll CRP248 [Stampendous]
    • Texture with Circles 41.060.I [Magenta]
    • Distressed Alphabet SA-5052 [Stamp Addicts]
    • Legacy Letters (lowercase) LP334 [Hero Arts]

  1. Love it, Neil! And how true… I love the colour and interest in this page. Congratulations again on being selected to present art journaling on TV. It’s an exciting venture!
