I’ve three more cards to share, this time using the First Edition Paper pack ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’, available from Craft Label. The 12×12″ pad features 48 sheets, 16 designs, with some in canvas effect paper, some with glitter or foil and about half are double-sided. The paper is a good 200gsm weight and printed with soy ink. Illustrations include drummers drumming, partridges in pear trees, candy canes and of course, the obligatory fiiiiivvvvee gooooollllllddd rings. Here are the quick, clean and simple cards I have made using the papers…

Craft Label DT: Oh So Sweet II
I took a couple of hours over the weekend to make a series of cards using the new paper pad from First Edition, Oh So Sweet available from Craft Label. I’ve already made a scrapbook layout with a description of the pad contents here, so I won’t repeat it again. Though I love the pastel colour palette, I did find it missing some dark contrast pages and had to add distress ink to some of the edges to get that contrast where I wanted it.
Craft Label DT: Bon Voyage
New in at Craft Label are the First Edition Bon Voyage paper pads. They feature two canvas designs, three spot UV designs and half the 48 sheets are double-sided. The pads are printed with soy inks and being acid and lignin-free are perfect for scrapbooking. I’ve also used the papers to make cards, five of which are featured below. I think the papers are also perfect for more masculine cards as well as travel-related projects. Here are six projects for your inspiration:
Craft Label DT: Oh So Sweet
New from Craft Label: Oh So Sweet paper pads and coordinating albums. The papers are beautifully designed and coloured, with glittered and pearlescent sheets along with several double-sided designs. The designs have all things sweet – macarons, lollies, cupcakes, cake slices, cups of tea, florals and even references to Battenburg and dolly mixtures. It’s strange how a scrapbooking paper design can evoke memories, and this was no exception. Here’s a layout recording one of our favourite refreshment stops while we were staying in Boston on our US trip back in December 2016.
Craft Label DT: North Star Christmas Cards II
Time for another look at the First Edition North Star paper pad from Craft Label. As well as the glittered design, two foil designs and two pearlescent designs, half the pad is double-sided as well. It’s a 200gsm paper, so a decent weight for card making and also making 3D projects as well. Today, I used the grey-green papers which accompany the blue-silver colour scheme in the pad.
Craft Label DT: Decoupage Cards II
More Craft Label goodness, hopefully for your inspiration and inspired purchases! This time I’ve used the Christmas Sentiments decoupage paper for three decoupage cards. For the square card, I decoupaged a square piece of white card first before mounting on the gold mat. For the DL card, I just stuck a piece of the decoupage paper to the mat – it’s see-through and the clear tape sticky is just visible as a dark lines (subtle but there) so I’d not do that again. Finally, I decoupaged the paper direct to the A6 card. Of course, the card buckled and it took a fair bit of work to get it flat enough again. I needed to outline the gold heat embossed sentiment with Stickles to help it stand out against the decoupage paper. This helped tie the text to the embellishment as well.
Craft Label DT: Christmas Decoupage
A quick and simple decoupage project, these upcycled powdered drinks containers could be used to hold candy canes, breadsticks or even Christmas potpourri. Paint over the drinks containers with black paint/gesso or be prepared to do a couple of layers of the decoupage paper to cover the text/pattern on the containers. Glue on the strips of decoupage paper with the decoupage adhesive and varnish and allow to dry.
Line the pots with paper from the North Star paper pad.
I decorated the blue with the foiled stars from the North Star paper pad in two strips edged with silver peel-off borders. Embellish with a mini gift bow and silver Merry Christmas sentiment. I’ve added a few glittered half-pearls in two sizes as a finishing touch.
I created a wreath effect on the red pot with alternating felt poinsettias and gold mini gift bows before glueing down one of the wooden Merry Christmas sentiments. Quick extra embellishments to finish: gold peel-off borders top and bottom and some gold ‘nail heads’ (sequins would also work here).
As it’s Black Friday, there’s a 3 for 2 promotion over on the Craft Label webshop, so pop over and get hold of the following to do this project!

Craft Label DT: Winter Sparkle Shadow Box
As promised in my previous DT post, here’s a project I made using another of Craft Label’s First Edition paper pad designs, Winter Sparkle. This comes in 12×12″ and 6×6″ pads along with an 8×8″ decoupage pad. There is also a plethora of coordinating embellishments. I used both the 6×6″ pad and one of the decoupage designs to make this shadow box:
Craft Label DT: North Star Christmas Cards
Craft Label is stocking several different Christmas themed paper pads, in various sizes, and I’ve had a chance to play with two of them. First up, the First Edition North Star paper pack. This features 48 sheets, 3 each of 16 designs, one glittered design, two foiled, two pearlescent and half are double-sided. The colour palette is grey, silver and navy blue with some cute penguins and polar bears as design elements. Backgrounds are varied from patterns to grungy watercolour. The papers are 200g/m2 weight and are printed with soy inks. The pad is available in 12×12″ (£15.99), 8×8″ (£9.99) and 6×6″ (£7.99). Here are three quick and easy Christmas cards made with the pad:
Trimcraft/Craft Label DT: Quick Decoupage Baubles
After an extended pause, I’ve taken delivery of my Christmas box of goodies from Trimcraft. Well, actually they are now Craft Label and over lockdown have created their own online retail store. There you can find all the Trimcraft brands such as First Edition and Dovecraft, as well as Crafters Companion, We R Memory Keepers and a large Cricut department.
It’s a distinctly Christmas theme with a lot of goodies, including paper pads, decoupage (both paper and 3D) and embellishments. There’s also a couple of clear stamps thrown in too:
I’ve also received 6 balls of bright coloured ombre yarn – the first thing I could think of to make with that is winter socks! I’ve started, so I’ll finish, but they’re looking more like a pair of boots rather than socks… Colourful though!
Here’s my first makes with the kit, a couple of quick and easy baubles.
Start by tearing a strip of First Edition Christmas Deco Mache Decoupage Paper (Sentiments/Snowflakes). Next, peel off the protective film from both sides of the acrylic bauble, then stick down the decoupage paper onto both sides of the bauble with First Edition Deco Mache Decoupage glue. Try and get the paper positioned so that it hides the glue on the other side. I used sandpaper to gently sand any overlapping edges of the paper for a smooth finish (quicker than cutting). Finally, glue on the sentiment and add the embellishment, mirroring the positions on the other side if both sides need adorning. I used Simply Creative Basics Glittered Poinsettias, Simply Creative Christmas Wooden Sentiments Merry Christmas, Simply Creative Basics Christmas Sentiment Toppers and Simply Creative Christmas Mini Gift Bows in gold and silver.
