Golden Landscape – heat embossed canvas

I’ve had a bit of a play with my Wow! Embossing Powders whilst waiting on my official design projects to get posted… Here’s what I did today:

As normal, it’s quite tricky to photograph metallic/glossy finishes, but I think you can get the gist. I used a 10x10cm canvas board and layered up Brass, Rich Gold and Ebony powders before adding foliage layers using stamps. A nice prototype to work with 🙂

About me
Wow! Embossing Powder’s blog goes live!

As promised, more info on the Wow! Embossing Powder blog to which I am a contributor as part of the design team. At the moment it’s just an introduction to all of the design team, but I know there are projects galore waiting in the wings 🙂

The UK blog is at http://wowembossingpowder.blogspot.com

The US version (with a different design team) is at http://wowembossingpowders.blogspot.com… notice the difference?

About me
Wow! A new role…

I’m pleased to announce that I have a new role as one of the design and demonstrator team for Wow Embossing Powders Ltd. I’ll be doing a project a week featuring their huge range of reduced static embossing powders and embossing glitters. I’ll be posting projects here with full instructions, but they will published first on their blog once it’s up and running. Watch out for the new posts and, as always, comments more than welcome 🙂

Twelve Tags of 2012 – January

I’ve been inspired by Tim Holtz’s Twelve Tags of Christmas, and decided I’d give some creative thought towards my own ‘Twelve Tags for 2012’. This has the added bonus of giving me some projects for this year at The Manic Stamper Craft Club! The muse developed to a design, and the design has developed into a prototype and that then developed into my final version of the tag for January. Please let me know what you think 🙂

I’m chuffed with the snowdrops, since I didn’t have any inspiration other than a photo of a real one – and it all starts as a daisy! If you want to know how to do your own, the instructions are over at the Manic Stamper blog.

Art Impressions Stamps and ProMarkers

I’ve not posted much ProMarker stuff recently, so thought I’d pop this pic up: it’s using the Art Impressions landscape stamps which I would routinely colour with Marvy water based pens. I thought I’d try it with ProMarkers this time, and was really pleased with the results.

Free Motion Machine Quilting – more squares

Four more squares from my ‘practice’ free motion machine quilting, using fabulous continuous line patterns as mentioned in my first bit of blogging about this.

Clockwise from top left are: Daisy Chain, Starshine, Do-Si-Do and Colorado Springs. I’m getting a bit quicker now that I’m getting the practice, and do recommend the daily practice – I did have over New Year off though 🙂

Free Motion Machine Quilting – another two squares

I’m trying to do one free motion quilt square per day – it keeps me in practice, doesn’t put too much strain on my dicky wrists, and doesn’t take up too much time. I’ve also started sewing up the squares to see what it’ll look like completed.

As usual, my photography lets me down… but you get the gist. And here’s what the four of them look like bound together:
