The Doodle Challenge – four cards

I’m having problems with my broadband again… if you’re reading this, it means I’ve caught it on a good day and managed to upload the post. One upshot of having less time online is more crafting time – although I don’t recommend knocking over a cup of tea as soon as you get to your craft space… Great for tidying up and washing the floor, but not so good for several bits of kit!

This week over at the ‘Less is More’ challenge blog, we were set the task of doodling. Hmmm – I wonder how tricky that was going to be for me given my zentangling experience? Actually, keeping it simple and a single motif was as difficult as selecting the sentiments! All the cards are completely hand doodled, and coloured using the distress reinker watercolour technique which I learnt during the Creative Chemistry 101 course.

It’s Lucky Dip time over at the ‘Less is More’ challenge, and this time they have set a colour theme based on one of the fabulous Design Seeds schemes:

I decided to make my card with ProMarkers again this time, and picked the closest matches in colour: Cool Grey 2, Grey Green, Meadow Green, Blossom and Rose Pink. Here are three cards that I stamped and coloured using the set colour scheme:

More butterflies – and the odd moth

I’ve had a creative day today – and this is one of the results. I’ve used the new Attic Treasures stamp from Tim Holtz, masking tape, Promarkers and a Letrajet attachment, a bit of Letraset metallic tape and a few stick on pearls. I’ve kept it clean and simple to enter the ‘Less is More’ masking challenge this week, and the colour scheme fits the ‘Passion for Promarkers’ yellow and pearls challenge. Oh, and me being me, I looked up each of the winged things on the interweb to find out what colours they should be…

I’m thrilled to be showcased over on the Less is More blog for this card – what an honour to be the first LIMister!

Simply a Mother’s Day card

I’ve found a challenge blog that suits my natural card making style – ‘Less is More’, a clean and simple challenge blog. There’s so much less of the layers and lace and embellishments and frippery – just a clean simple card. So I thought I’d enter a card into their neutrals theme challenge this week. And then I realised I hadn’t done a ProMarker card for a while, so thought I’d enter the same card into ‘Passion for Promarkers’ challenge this week on their Mother’s Day theme.

Art Impressions Stamps and ProMarkers

I’ve not posted much ProMarker stuff recently, so thought I’d pop this pic up: it’s using the Art Impressions landscape stamps which I would routinely colour with Marvy water based pens. I thought I’d try it with ProMarkers this time, and was really pleased with the results.

Christmas Tangles

I don’t know what’s come over me – it seems my bah humbugness has cracked a little and a bit of festive creativity has crept out. Technically these are not tangle patterns nor zentangles as they resemble real objects (one of the zentangle rule no-nos), but they’re close enough for me 🙂

Colouring in

Well with college starting with a ‘what did you do during the summer’ assignment, it was great to revisit another childhood memory and do some ‘colouring in’ for my ProMarker project this week. Letraset are running a colouring challenge (#3) offering a pattern from their partner website Patterns for Colouring. This week’s challenge over at Passion for Promarkers is the highly flexible ‘anything goes’. So here’s my entry to both challenges 🙂
