I’ve found five verses that referred to us being God’s children and created templates using my normal combination of inspiration and AI image generation. I’ve not used watercolour pencils for a while, so I decided to get them out for these illustrations. Here are my samples, and below the break you can find the download link for my free PDF template for the ‘family’ themed pieces.

Used IN these illustrations
- Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils
- Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils
- Unipin black pigment ink (various widths)
I’ve used two Bibles for this month’s samples – my trusty NIV Black Journalling Bible, and my new NIV Art Journalling Bible. The art journalling version is slightly taller with the same width of blank margin. The pages are whiter and slightly thicker, with the text larger. It also includes 32 full-page blanks. In use, the paper behaves pretty much the same as my ‘normal’ journalling Bible. Now that my first Bible is getting very full, you’ll be seeing more examples in the new one (as well as in my gorgeous leather-bound ESV Bible).

Please let me know when you create your journaling with them and which verses you’d love me to include. If you feel inclined, please consider donating via the Ko-fi button on the shop pages to help me keep them available to everyone for free.
End of an era
After many years of holding Bible journaling sessions at The Studio, it has sadly come time to stop. Numbers attending have been much lower since the shut downs of 2020-1 and it just isn’t viable any more. I will still be Bible journaling myself, and will keep updating here and at my online shop as I complete more illustrations and templates.
Please let me know if you would like to commission me to create an illustration, whether digital or physical, for gifting or perhaps for you to add to your own journaling Bible.
