Finally! A challenge for which I had a choice of stencils and stamps to use in my card design – dogs/puppies. This is this week’s theme over at AAA Cards‘ clean and simple card challenge blog. After using technology to make last time’s card, I thought I would go back to my card-making roots and go for something using basic techniques:
I’m not sure it has the same wow factor as some of my other recent cards, but it meets the brief! I stencilled the dogs in black first, then decided there needed to be a focal point so went in and overpainted the centre dog in the teal colour (it took two coats). Round the corners and blend distress ink around the edge before matting onto a kraft card blank. The sentiment panel is embossed with white for a strong opaque finish. I took a while to choose the sentiment and settled on this one given the proximity of the dogs to one another and their habit of greeting each other nose to tail!
