Altered Art: Weathered, Part II

A friend of mine put me onto Gaslands – a post-apocalyptic turn-based game that happens to use Dinky/Matchbox cars. Now, I have to admit that I’ve not actually played it yet… the fun bit has been creating Mad Max style car makeovers. The cars need to look battered and weathered, so there has been a lot of dry-brushing. Just using acrylic paints is enough, with their almost matte finish being much better than the glossy original.Above, from back: Baja Buggy (Matchbox, 1971); Mercury Cougar (Matchbox, 1970); Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Coupe (Matchbox, 1969)

3D printed weaponry complements the look, though why anyone would choose to have a flamethrower directly over two fuel barrels…

I’ve neglected to take before pics for most of my mods so far, but here’s an Off-Road Rider (Matchbox, 2006) that I made over last night. Mods included adding dents with a Dremel routing bit, rust effects, vent intake to the engine block and of course the mahoosive guns on either side.
