Here’s my November Craft Club project – more distressing and emboss resist work, this time using two colours direct to the card, and a tag thrown in too:

And here’s how to do the same:

1. Choose your design – if it is to be in line with the colour stripe, mask the card first; if it is to overflow the colour stripe, emboss first
2. Stamp your design with Versamark or other clear embossing ink and heat emboss with a clear sparkly embossing powder – this forms your resist layer
3. Mask your card/tag with low tack masking tape or large post-it note
4. Apply distress ink with a foam applicator, working from the masking tape into the stripe – aim for a dark area next to the masked area, and light in the middle
5. Apply distress ink with another colour in the same way, either blending in the middle or leaving a slight white band in the middle
6. Wipe over the coloured area with a dry tissue to remove any ink sticking to the embossing
7. Add embellishments as desired.
