For this month’s Bible journaling theme, I’ve chosen the loose title of ‘watchful hearts’. I’ve tried to collect verses which encourage anticipation of Christ’s return and getting your heart right with God.
Making notes
It seems I am increasingly using digital means to help create my Bible journaling illustrations. You know by now that I use AI to work with me to develop the illustrations and Adobe Illustrator to format the templates.
For this session, I used a relatively old app (new to me) ‘Colored Pencil Picker‘. It’s a fantastic aid when choosing colours. Take a photo of the image/palette you’d like to choose colours from and it will guide you to which pencils from a wide number of makes to use. It even goes so far as to give recommendations of layers to use to get the exact tones you’re after. For these layouts, I took a quick snap of my chosen Color Cube card, picked the tones from the palette and did the colouring with my Polychromos pencils.
Used for this layout
- Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils
- NIV Journaling Bible
- Unipin pigment pens: black
- Ranger Stickles glitter glue: Unicorn
- Posca paint pens: metallic gold (PC1-MR)
