This month’s Bible journaling session used ‘serve’ as its theme, with five new illustration templates made available. It took me ages to find the right inspiration for the images, but it was worth the effort. I have also got hold of some new fonts, courtesy of Creative Fabrica’s daily gifts and freebies, so they snuck into the designs as well. Here are the five illustrations:
The verses from Joshua and Deuteronomy were coloured with watercolour pencils, 1 Samuel and Matthew with coloured pencils and 1 Peter was a combination of paint pens and coloured pencils. I encouraged attendees to add shading to add depth and interest. The gradients in the lettering achieve the same.
The next Bible journaling session at The Studio is on Monday evening, 10th July, starting at 7:30pm. We will have a ‘catch-up’ session where attendees can choose from my back catalogue of illustrations. The choices are myriad – over 150 illustrations now – and available to view on my Pinterest board. If you’d like to come, please let me know.
Used for these ‘serve’ themed pages
- NIV black hardback journaling Bible
- Faber Castell Polychromos colouring pencils
- Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils
- Sakura Pigma Micron black pigment pens (various sizes)
- Posca paint pens (PC1M & PC1MR)
The templates, as normal, are available as a free printable download from my store.
