Our monthly colour theme has come around again at Less is More clean and simple card challenge. This time it is ‘black and light purple’. I’ve taken the set palette literally and haven’t even used white (which is allowed). A top tip from the outset is to not try stamping an outline onto textured card stock… Here’s my make:
Stamp with black archival ink as the next water-based media won’t make it bleed. Give it a quick heat set and then add watercolour shading using distress ink as your ‘paint’. For the sentiment, stamp several times with distress paint (the pigment makes it opaque). You will find it best to use a stamp platform and dry lightly between stamping it. I used a makeup sponge to lightly apply the paint to the stamp. Using a platform will also help put even pressure across the stamp, prevent over-pressing and avoid ‘tramlines’ where the paint squeezes off the stamped image.
