It’s another theme challenge at Less is More this week. We’d like to see your clean and simple cards based on ‘spring’. Now, because I know what’s coming up in the next challenge I didn’t want to do a similar image and decided for this theme to play around with some typography. Here’s what I came up with:
I created the file using Adobe Illustrator as I wanted to use my laser cutter to score the outlines, but you’d be able to create a similar outcome in a word processor, print and trace. I traced with black pigment pens before I coloured the piece with a mix of watercolours, fine-tip pens and coloured pencils. Mat and mount onto a card.
The quote is from the inestimable American comedian, Robin Williams.
Used for this spring card
- Fonts
- Renesans Intense watercolour paints: Transparent Yellow, Helio Turquoise
- WHSmith Assorted Fineliners: Green, Magenta
- Faber-Castell Polychromos Colour Pencils
- Unipin Fine Line Black Pigment Pen (02,08)
- Tombow Calligraphy Pen: Black
Such a fantastic card love the gorgeous spring colours and the sentiment is fantastic and I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Williams. Unfortunately, it’s like Greece has a hangover, not spring like at all here.
