There’s a birthday celebration over at Less is More Challenge blog. The clean and simple challenge has been running for 10 years! There are lots of prizes to be won if you’d like to enter, with the birthday theme being the colour ‘chocolate’. I decided a tenth birthday cake was in order and came up with this card:
I combined a couple of images from a Google search in Photoshop to get a rough base from which I sketched the outline using a black pigment pen. It was then just a matter of colouring in with ProMarkers.
Used for this chocolate cake card
- Handdrawn sketch using Sakura Micron PN black pigment pen
- ProMarkers:
- Ganache – Henna / Walnut / Warm Grey 5
- Cake – Cocoa
- Cream – Warm Grey 3
- Candles/Sentiment – Gold / Canary / Warm Grey 3-5
- Stand – Flexmarkers Blue Grey 1-4
This looks terrific Neil… the original LIMISTER!
Great to see you continuing the tradition!
Your Photoshopping looks awesome, to say nothing of your drawing and colouring!

Wow! You sketched the outline? That’s awesome. Ever since I first saw your card I’ve been wondering where you got THE perfect image to celebrate our 10 years. You knocked it out of the ball park with this one. Just brilliant. Have a fab week xx
