Another weekly challenge has landed over at Passion for ProMarkers. I was pleased to be in the top five chosen submissions in last week’s challenge, so I thought I’d have another go. Gotta be in it to win it after all. The theme is ‘animals’. Some time ago I encouraged people to use the tag #nbu – never been used – in an effort to use that crafty stash that once purchased languishes unloved in a drawer or box. This stamp is one such example…
It’s been some while since I made a card with matting and topper: I’m a little out of practice. Turns out that rounded rectangles are great for flowing text but less so for cutting the curves. I’m not entirely happy with the sentiment – I don’t think the size is right, let alone the wobbly stamping and matting. Clearly I need to make more layered cards and get my eye back in.
The colouring of the mutt is loosely based on my cockerpoo. Once white, she is increasingly going grey as her mum’s brindle colouring comes through with age. She is otherwise distinctive for her black patches which I have tried to replicate. And yes, it does look like she has a black eye!
Used for this card

- Stampers Anonymous / Tim Holtz Cling Stamps: Crazy Dogs [CMS271]

- Silver peel off strips
- Cardstock: various
- Quote: Unattributed
Great CAS card using that fun doggie image – it’s nice to revisit old stash sometimes, as our style changes over time and something that might have been relegated gets a whole new lease of life!
