Bible Journaling: a few more examples

I’m still on a mission to journal in my Bible(s) at least once a day. And I’m still missing my own goalposts 50% of the time… Here are a few more examples from the times I did manage to sit down do some bible journaling. I’ve tried a few more ways of putting down backgrounds, experimenting with text styles and even allowing stamps and a bit of illustration to creep in.

  1. I like what your doing in your bible. What are you using for a ground? Do you only use Distress paint? or have you had success with watercolors or other paint?

    • For pencil work, I’ve found no ground works best. Acrylics (including distress paints) go straight to paper. Watercolour and some inks (and distress stains) just soak through the thin pages, so I tend to use a clear gesso. Winsor Newton’s has a very gritty tooth and I didn’t like it. I was pointed to Ranger/Dina Wakely’s clear gesso and that’s now my go to.
