Hi all – this blog has just ticked over it’s 100,000 views in just 14 months of going live. And I think the person putting the time in today was Alice checking out my tangle patterns – thanks for all your comments, Alice!

As promised, I have a giveaway in honour of this momentous occasion. The lovely Tania at WOW! Embossing Powder has kindly provided a set of six powders in a handy carry case:  Green Glitz, Princess Pink, Red Glitz, Metallic Gold Sparkle, Blue Glitz and Indigo Super Fine. As a second prize, I’ve also decided to give away a signed, limited edition copy of my drypoint print.

All you need to do to have a chance of winning is to leave a comment anywhere on my blog between now and midnight GMT on 22nd May. Only one entry to the draw per person, though feel free to comment as much as you like! The two winners will be announced at some point on 23rd May. Good luck, and thank you for your continuing support 🙂

A Record Breaking Month

You are a wonderful lot! This month has been a record breaker here on the blog! I’ve had my highest view rate of an average of 512 hits per day, my highest daily hits of 1062 on 30th March, and a whopping 15876 hits over the month. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Much of the interest has been around my new Templates downloads, with a massive 3500 views of my Easter Basket Template since I uploaded it at the end of February, with 1080 of you downloading it to date. I guess those hits will be dropping off any day now!

It’s been great to have the interest and support, and please keep coming back and seeing what I’m up to next. By the way – there’s the next milestone at 100,000 hits – I already have a set of six WOW! embossing powders in a handy carry case to give away… what else would you like to win?

Most Commented Prize Commission

I thought I’d give you some feedback on Judy’s commission for her prize winning piece of artwork for her being the top commenter on my blog for the first year. I asked her to give me an indication of what she would like, and here’s her reply: “I would love a Zentangle piece with a bit of Promarker and WOW powder for accent color!  (or colour, as is spelled in your town!)  I would love the quote, “Creative Minds are never tidy!”   The regular 3.5 x 3.5 inch Zentangle tile size would be fine.  It would also be easy to find myself a pre-cut frame for 4 x 6 inches (approximately 10 x 15.25 cm).”

She also provided an album of images from my blog as illustration:

So… what did I come up with? I’ve put a watermark across it so that the original remains the only copy and unique to my winner. A combination of tangling, ProMarker, and a smidge of clear gloss WOW! embossing powder to make the colours zing. If you’d like to commission your own piece of art, either email me, or use the Commissions tab at the top of the page. This is now on its way to Judy 🙂

Has it only been a year?

Hello! Today is the last day of the first year of my blog 🙂

And in my normal fashion, I’m celebrating this milestone with a giveaway! More on that in a moment, but first some first year stats:

  • I’ve had over 67,000 hits in one year – wow!
  • My busiest day was 22nd February this year when 783 views occurred in 24 hours
  • My Tangle Pattern gallery has been viewed 6,616 times
  • The top five most viewed tangle patterns are CB5, Raffia, Waterlily, Flower Whorl and ABC
  • 1,245 views came from people searching Google for ‘tangle patterns’
  • The post with the most comments during the year, unsurprisingly, was my third giveaway
  • I have 130 email subscribers and 13 WordPress followers
  • I’ve made 227 posts and there are a total of 664 comments

Phew! What a year! I’d like to thank you all for your support, comments and enquiries – they really do make a difference to my enthusiasm levels!

And now to the giveaway. In fact, two giveaways!

Both giveaways will be a commissioned piece of artwork (that’s postable) of the recipient’s choosing – it might be a bespoke card, a zentangle, a drawing – that’s for the recipient to choose with me. It’ll be your own special personal bit of blog 🙂

The first giveaway is to the person that has given the most feedback through the comments over the year – and by far the leader is…. Judy Gudeman! Judy, please look in your email inbox! I’d like to give an honourable mention to Dianne T and Lizzie Mayne as runners up.

And the second is to my longest standing, active, email or WordPress follower. All you have to do to win the giveaway is to comment on this blog – whoever has been subscribing for the longest and responds the quickest will win 🙂

As for my new followers, keep following! It won’t be long before I am celebrating my 100,000th view and I’m hoping to get some great prizes to giveaway.

Best wishes to you all and roll on the next 12 months!

Wowweeee! Over 50,000 views!

Hi all – between you, you’ve clocked up 50,000 views of my blog in 9 months of it being live. Thank you so much for your support, comments and interest.

In commemoration of this fabulous achievement, I’m working on a great giveaway – but it’s happened a smidge quicker than I expected, so it’s not quite ready. Keep your eyes peeled early in the New Year.

Happy Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year.

Over to you… what should be my next giveaway?

Hello, dear readers,

I’ve noticed my views ticking up, and realised that it’s time to start preparing something formy 50,000th view giveaway… and I got to thinking – what would you like to win?

Since I don’t have a corporate sponsor (yet), and am a student, budget is a consideration, but I’d love to hear your wish lists!

Suggestions on a comment form please 🙂

25,000 blog views – and unique giveaway #2

Ok, so I’m guessing it will be at some point while I’m asleep tonight, but I couldn’t wait a moment longer before sharing my celebratory prize with you! In recognition of a fantastic 25,000 views in less than six months, I have created my largest zentangle-inspired artwork (ZIA) to date. And it’s a giveaway!

Entitled ’71’, this A3-sized pen and pencil ZIA contains all seventy one tangle patterns I’ve published on this blog. This unique prize can be yours!

To have a chance of winning this one-of-a-kind prize, all you need to do is to create your own ZIA incorporating only patterns from my blog and share it with me by posting a link to your blog entry (preferred) or emailing a scan/photo of your creation via the link at the top of the sidebar (if you don’t have a blog). I don’t mind how many of my patterns you use, nor what size of ZIA you create. I hope to be able to create a gallery on my blog of all the entries to this challenge, celebrating your artistic exuberance. And to be fair to all-comers, I’ll select the winner by random draw of all entries. Entries close at 23:59 GMT on Saturday 10th September.

And thank you all for your interest, encouragement and for following my blog for the last five months 🙂

Unique Giveaway #2 – spoiler alert ;)

Dear readers,

I’m about to reach 25,000 views of my blog

In honour of the phenomenal hit rate to my blog, I’m creating another unique zentangle-inspired artwork to give away. In less than six months since I started, I’m about to reach 25,000 views of my blog, with a current record of 624 views in a single day! Now in the grand scheme of things that’s not a lot of hits compared to say, Google, but it’s exciting to me!

So… the spoiler alert? I’m going to create my biggest tangle to date, incorporating all of my tangle patterns – and then I’m going to give it away. Watch out for the pictures, and I’ll launch the give away proper when the blog counter reaches 25,000 🙂

And hopefully by then I’ll have got the hang of actually handing on the give away!
